About Amy
My interest in real estate began as a child when my father’s career got our family transferred. After three moves between Massachusetts, Texas and North Carolina, I had my fair share of experiences with real estate agents. It was obvious to me that my family went through much less stress when we had a good agent working for us. A good agent was confident, knowledgeable about the area and seemed genuinely interested in helping us buy or sell our
home.
Now that I am a real estate agent, I am very
conscientious about protecting the best interests of my clients. Regardless of whether a seller or a buyer, I am always thinking about what my clients need besides selling or finding their home. Issues such as schools, appreciation rates, growth patterns in our area, and anticipated maintenance are topics I frequently discuss with clients. These discussions are important in order to think through all the different options a buyer or seller has during the real estate transaction.
One of my other priorities is to service clients after the sale. I keep my clients informed about changes in the laws and send reminders for preventative maintenance. I return calls weekly from clients asking for suggestions for service people, or past clients who have a question about their home. A significant amount of my business is from referrals from past clients and people who have bought or sold with me before. It is certainly a great compliment to get a call saying "Doug Rogers gave me your name and said how pleased he was with your work in finding his home." because I know those clients are willing to recommend me to their co-workers, friends, and family.
I have worked with a variety of buyers and sellers ranging from first-time buyers, people relocating to and from North Carolina, investors, and parents looking for a townhome or condo for their college age children. I have sold houses from $50,000 to $350,000. I enjoy all price ranges equally because for each client their home is their castle, not to mention one of the biggest investments they will ever make.
I take my responsibility as a real estate agent seriously. I service my clients as I would like to be treated if I was looking to buy a home myself. Here are a few adjectives my buyers have used to describe my service, "… professional, patient, informative, dedicated, understanding, not pushy, relaxed…". Many of my past buyers have recommended me to friends and family or have used me to buy their second and third homes in the
area.
Feel free to read through some the
recommendations and comments from past clients.
Call or email me if you have any questions or you would like to discuss having me work as your Exclusive Buyers Agent.

Meet Helen
Helen
Miller is the team’s client care coordinator. She handles much of the
“behind the scenes” operations such as maintaining the database and
helping me keep in touch with you after you buy or sell your home. If you
wonder where I found such a “gem” – Helen is also my mother-in-law
so I asked her to help me after she retired from her career working for
the State of North Carolina.
I
have lived in North Carolina all my life. My husband and I live on a farm
just outside of Hillsborough, a small town just west of Durham. It is
growing fast just like many other areas in North Carolina, but
Hillsborough has retained it’s charm and history. I am pleased to be
able to contribute to real estate here by helping Amy. I
worked over 40 years for the NC Cooperative Extension Service in Orange
County. My experience comes in handy as client care coordinator with one
of my favorite projects. I am in charge of the newsletter which includes
gardening tips. I have discovered that many people either are not familiar
with the plants in this region or have not owned a home before, so they
don’t know what to do with them! The seasonal tips will help keep you
informed on planting seasons and what plants grow well here. Perhaps this
is something you didn’t even think about – a real estate team giving
you gardening tips! Even
though we may not meet in person, I am here to help and will do my part in
contributing to make your experience truly pleasant, both before and after
you buy or sell! Helen
Meet Angel
Angel is the newest
member of Amy Shair’s office. Angel is the Listing and Marketing
Coordinator for Amy Shair. Angel is a licensed real estate broker,
paralegal and notary. Angel handles all aspects of the listings and all
of the paper, website and internet marketing for Amy Shair and her
clients. Angel lives in Raleigh with her husband and two young
children.

I have always had a
fascination with real estate. I believe it stems from my father buying
“fixer uppers” in PA and then reselling them when I was very young.
As I grew up, I
became a paralegal specializing in real estate and eventually got my
real estate license, when my family and I moved to NC 5 years ago. Even
though, technically, I could sell a client a home in NC, it takes more
than a license to do a good job through the real estate process.
I enjoy marketing
and combined with my love of real estate, I am able to build on Amy
Shair’s excellent reputation. One area that we strongly focus on is
internet marketing. The internet has completely changed the way we view
all areas of our lives. It is our goal to stay on top of the latest
internet applications and market avenues to get the best results for our
clients.
I enjoy working with
Amy because her integrity and incredible knowledge base is unsurpassed
in the Triangle market. I have referred friends to Amy, who are very
pleased with her service.
I am the “behind the
scenes girl” who handles the marketing, internet and paperwork for Amy’s
Sellers and Buyers. This allows Amy to do her best work for the client
“face to face”.
