Amy Shair Top Agent Award Recipient – When Amy Shair was a teenager, she accepted a position answering phones as a receptionist for a local real estate office: sure enough, she’s been in the industry ever since. A longtime resident of North Carolina, she has since built an award-winning career through more than twenty-eight years of professional experience. Today, Amy is a Real Estate Associate with RE MAX United, where she services clients throughout the entire Triangle Region.
When listing a home, Amy offers her clients a mix of cutting edge and time trusted strategies. After providing them with everything from professional photography to interactive virtual tours, she shares their home over a series of targeted digital and social media campaigns. Meanwhile, she sends out postcards and flyers to the surrounding neighbors. But through it all, Amy, an early adopter to digital listings, is always willing to embrace new technology and marketing techniques, “I’ll do anything to make the business more efficient for my clients,” she says.
Elsewhere, Amy places a strong emphasis on open communication when assisting her buyers. By leaning on her years of experience and the full support staff at RE MAX United, she ensures that her clients make decisions that are in their best interests. “I’ll tell my clients exactly what I think about a property: without sugar-coating the truth,” she says. “Above all, I’m here to remind them of their top priorities and make sure their purchase meets those needs.”
For Amy, service lasts well after the deals are done, as she prefers to remain in touch with all her clients through follow-up phone calls, monthly mailings, and quarterly newsletters. She also hosts client appreciation events throughout the year, such as a Thanksgiving Pie Giveaway. In her decades of service, she has earned a terrific reputation throughout the Triangle, with the vast majority of her volume coming from either repeat clients or referrals. When asked about the keys to her success, she highlights her strong negotiation skill, “I love being in the trenches with a client — whether I’m marketing a listing, helping them choose the right property, or making sure the offer is acceptable. There’s nothing more fulfilling than helping someone make one of the most important decisions of their life.”
Amy is tremendously active in her community. She is an upcoming Director of the Durham Regional Association of Realtors. In the past, she has participated in the Angels Among Us walk for brain tumor research and served on the board of Hemophilia of North Carolina. When she’s not with clients or giving back, Amy can be found traveling, relaxing on Lake Gaston with a good book, or spending quality time with her family.
Amy has strong plans for the future. As her business maintains its steady growth, she will continue providing unmatched service while balancing time with her two children. A proud solo agent, Amy is most excited for the new connection and client relationships that await her all throughout North Carolina, “The people are what gets me out of bed every day,” she says, “I truly value the opportunity to help my clients accomplish their real estate goals–whatever those goals may be.”
